Most inhabitants live in peace with each other, because accusing other people or being on strike is forbidden by the government. If you break the law, you get imprisoned in one of the notorious prison camps or Prison Island, which is life-threatening.

 

As we mentioned earlier, the death penalty is still in use in our country. Surprisingly, a lot of people in Oreland would prefer the death penalty over imprisonment. That is because the prisoners are horribly tortured, the prisons are very unsanitary and life-threatening. So, the prisoners usually die very slowly in a very cruel way.

 

Inhabitants are also short-term oriented. Because of the communist regime, societal change is threatening for their hierarchical structure so the inhabitants respect their traditions and social obligations. And of course collectivism is cheered on whereas unorthodox behaviour and ideas are frowned upon (uncertainty avoidance is very high).

 

Luckily, illness is very rare in the country. The inhabitants are very strong and healthy. But in each province, there is a doctor and pharmacy in case of emergency. In Urania, there is also a hospital.
